Producer Tiberini
TUSCANY
The Tiberini family has lived and worked at Podere Le Caggiole, in the heart of Montepulciano, Tuscany, for nearly two centuries, passing down the art of winemaking from generation to generation. Today, Luca and Fabio, together with Niccolò — representing the seventh generation — continue to lead the family winery, preserving a deep connection with the land and the winemaking traditions of Montepulciano. The Tiberini estate, a historic family-run winery, extends across approximately 20 hectares on the rolling hills stretching north from Montepulciano toward the Valdichiana, at elevations between 310 and 380 meters above sea level. Of these, 14 hectares are dedicated to vineyards and 2 hectares to olive groves, in one of Tuscany’s most renowned wine-growing areas. Since 1987, Tiberini Winery has embraced a sustainable and integrated farming approach focused on strengthening the vine’s natural resistance while progressively reducing the use of pesticides, including copper and sulfur treatments. This long-term commitment to environmentally responsible viticulture led the estate to become fully certified organic in 2015. The organic vineyards of Montepulciano cultivated by the Tiberini family are distinguished by a remarkable diversity of soils, ranging from Pliocene sands to clay-rich soils with stones and marl. Some vineyards are nearly 90 years old and still include rare ungrafted vines, representing an authentic agricultural heritage of Tuscany. Production is centered on the preservation and enhancement of native Tuscan grape varieties, including Prugnolo Gentile (Montepulciano’s traditional Sangiovese clone), Canaiolo, Mammolo, Colorino, Pugnitello, Pulcinculo, Malvasia, Vermentino, and Trebbiano. This reflects the family’s dedication to protecting biodiversity, territorial identity, and Tuscan winemaking traditions. Every day, the Tiberini family carries forward a philosophy based on quality, sustainability, and respect for nature, embodying the role of dedicated winegrowers committed to preserving their land through experience, patience, and environmental stewardship.
