Producer Colle Jano
MARCHE
Colle Jano Farm Estate is located in Cupramontana, in the heart of the Castelli di Jesi area in Le Marche, Italy, surrounded by the historic villages of Monte Roberto, Castelbellino, San Paolo di Jesi and Staffolo. Founded in 2016, Colle Jano is a family-run farm dedicated to the production of Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi wine, extra virgin olive oil, honey and sustainable agricultural products. The estate extends across 7 hectares cultivated according to sustainable and conservation agriculture principles. Our historic Verdicchio vineyards are carefully restored and preserved through farming practices that respect the land, biodiversity and the natural fertility of the soil. One of Colle Jano’s distinctive features is the presence of ancient own-rooted vines (“piede franco”), preserved through the traditional layering propagation technique. This rare viticultural heritage represents an important asset within the Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC landscape. Our winemaking philosophy is artisanal and small-scale: hand-harvested grapes, spontaneous fermentation, aging on fine lees and minimal use of sulfites. Every bottle is crafted to authentically express the Marche terroir and the true identity of Verdicchio. In addition to wine production, Colle Jano cultivates olive trees, vegetables and aromatic herbs, while also raising bees and small farm animals, promoting a self-sufficient and sustainable rural lifestyle. We welcome visitors and wine lovers for Verdicchio wine tastings, vineyard experiences and authentic moments dedicated to discovering the agricultural excellence of Le Marche.
