Producer Christophe Pueyo
FRANCE, BORDEAUX
Pueyo is a historic family in the winemaking world of Saint-Emilion, Bordeaux, with a tradition spanning three centuries. They have owned Château Belregard-Figeac since 1853, now in its fifth generation, with Christophe at the helm. Since 2010, they have been converting to organic farming, certified by Ecocert, and since 2017, they have also adopted biodynamic methods for the cultivation of their vines, covering a total of 16 hectares of vineyards, 7 of which are dedicated to the production of red wines and 1.5 hectares of white grapes. The vineyards are divided into ten parcels, characterized by very different soils: gravelly near Libourne, clay and flint in Fronsac, and limestone near Nérigean, where the Cuvée Blanc is produced. Aging takes place in a variety of containers, including barriques, tonneaux, large barrels, and amphorae, helping to maintain the purity and character of the terroir. Pueyo represents an authentic and vivid example of its area of origin, maintaining a balance between fruitiness and the valorization of the original soil. The wines, the fruit of courageous and environmentally friendly work, stand out for their stability and complexity, revealing the identity of the terroir and the care taken in production.
