THE BEST EXPRESSIONS OF GAVI

Gavi or Cortese di Gavi is a Piedmontese white wine obtained from the Cortese vine. The Cortese variety is found in different areas between Piedmont, Lombardy and Liguria, while the name of Gavi DOCG includes all or part of the territories of 11 municipalities located in the province of Alessandria. Here the lands are of two types: the white, marl and limestone and the red, clayey, in addition the area enjoys a special microclimate given by the marine wind blowing from the Ligurian Sea. The Gavi DOCG refers to 5 types: Fermo, Frizzante, Spumante, Riserva and Riserva Spumante Metodo Classico. And if you wonder why we find a white wine in a region of "Rossi", everything is to be found at the time of the Republic of Genoa, where the Genoese cuisine, made of fish, lean meats and vegetables, was exalted with white wine obtained from the autochthonous vine, the Cortese.
