Valle d\'Aosta

Valle d'Aosta is a wine region located in northern Italy. Although small in recent years its quality has increased both for the good work of winemakers and for the particular vines cultivated only in this region. Red berries such as Fumin, Petti Rouge, Vien de Nus, Mayolet, Premetta and Cornalin, and white berry including Priè Blanc, Petite Arvine, to which Chardonnay is added. Vineyards are concentrated along the course of the Dorea Baltea river that cuts the region horizontally into two. The region has no DOCG but a single DOC named Valle d'Aosta and seven subregions that depart from the area to the Piedmont border are: Donnas, where the principal grape is the Nebbiolo called here Picotenier, Arnard Montjovet, Chambave, Nus, Torrette , Enfer d'Arvier and Morgex et de la Salle where the Priè Blanc is cultivated and the highest vineyards in Europe are 1200 m. Which thanks to the height are on the right foot, that is not stuck with American root.

Torrette di La Source is a red wine made from Petit Rouge and Vien de Nus grapes that come from the Saint-Pierre vineyard, planted in 1991 on a soil of sandy origin. The refinement takes place on the fine lees partly in steel and partly in wood to favor maturation and increase the complexity of flavor and aroma. A wine that on the nose gives intense hints of red berry fruit, violets and plums, and spicy notes. In the mouth it is structured and full-bodied, enveloping, dry and pleasant with a slightly spicy finish.
