Trentino

Trentino is a region of northern Italy, where a mix of different terrains, climate and vineyard care gives birth to exceptional wines. The oenological destiny of this region is already in the profile of its boundaries, in leaf form, and the cultivation of the vine is traced back to finds found in Val di Cembre, V century A.C. The Romans also encouraged the production of vines in this area, and in the Middle Ages the monks of the Abbey of Saint Michelle at Adige wrote the "wine cards" that used to codify all the oenological practices. Even today, the San Michele all'Adige Agrarian Institute is one of the best schools for the formation of oenologists and agronomists. Trentino has no DOCG but many DOCs, among them: Trento DOC, the spumante designation, where classic sparkling products are produced with Chardonnay and Pinot Nero grapes. Casteller DOC, a Schiava-based red wine, an autochthonous berry red. The Valdadige Terradeiforti, where we find 2 red berry vines such as the Casetta and Enantio or Lambrusco with jagged leaf. The Teroldego Rotaliano, red wine obtained from Teroldego grapes cultivated in the Rotaliana Plain, the only plain of all Trentino. Most of the vineyards are reared with the system called "Pergola Trentina" and are located along the course of the river Adige, which cuts the region longitudinally, where we find sandy and gravel terrains with the exception of Isera where we find The Marzemino, quoted by Mozart in his Don Giovanni, who lives in a scented red and medium body. In Trentino there is a very rare white berry that was almost destroyed by the philosophers, which originated from the splendid Vin Santo Trentino.
