Producer 3Fonteinen

3 Fonteinen is a Belgian brewery in Beersel, near Brussels, specialized in the production of Lambic and is one of the most famous and renowned in the world. It was born in 1961 when Gaston Debelder bought the Drie Fonteinen Cafè, a meeting place for famous Flemish writers. Debelder learned his skills from his friend Jan-Baptist Vanderlinden, a well-known assembler from Gueuze, former owner of the café and mayor of the city. In a short time Gaston became famous thanks to his extraordinary olfactory and gustatory abilities: sensitivities that define and differentiate a true Lambic assembler. To his two sons, Armand and Guido, after his death in 2005, he left the brewery and restaurant respectively. Armand decided to start a general modernization and expansion which takes place in March 2013. The production is very limited so the products are available in very limited quantities! In Berseel today only Oud Beersel (closed in 2003 and reopened in 2005 after a change of ownership) and 3 Fonteinen remain.
