Producer Domaine de l’Ecu

FRANCE, LOIRE

Guy Bossard is a man of a few words but of so many facts, hands and face bring the signs of the days spent working in the vineyard. Its cellar is located in Muscadet Sèvre and Maine, a few miles from Nantes, famous for producing fresh and light wines with the best combination of oysters. Guy Bossard cultivates 21 hectares of vineyards, 16 of which are planted in Melon de Bourgogne, two hectares of Cabernet and Chardonnay and the remaining ones in Fole Blanche. It cultivates its vineyards in organic culture since 1975 and 1992, moving to the biodynamic regime, with the elimination of any chemical substance and the use of preparations such as cow's milk powder and macerated flowers. It is not uncommon to see him, in younger vineyards, use his horse to plow land. The land on which its vineyards stand are composed of three different geological formations: Gneiss, Orthogneiss and Granite, which give the name to Guy Bossard's wines. The grapes are vinified separately to ensure the extraordinary minerality of the different terroirs. Guy Bossard's wines are far from Muscadet stereotypes, but structured, deep and mineral.
