Producer Waris Larmandier

FRANCE, COTE DES BLANCS

Waris Larmandier represents an emerging excellence in the Côte des Blancs region, renowned for its excellence in Champagne. Founded in 1989 by Marie-Hélène Larmandier, a fifth-generation winemaker, and her husband, Vincent Waris, the company has distinguished itself through its commitment to respecting nature and biodynamic practices. Today, the eldest son, Jean-Philippe Waris, is at the helm, personally tending the vineyards and cellar, carrying on the family tradition with passion and expertise. Supporting him are his siblings, Pierre-Louis and Ines; the latter, a graphic designer, carefully curates the floral motifs on the labels, contributing to the brand's visual identity. The company owns approximately 7 hectares of vineyards, distributed primarily in the Côte des Blancs, in the areas of Chouilly, Cramant, Avize, Oger, and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. They are cultivated biodynamically, a commitment to quality and sustainability, reinforced by Jean-Philippe's experience with Benoît Lahaye. Annual production ranges between 35,000 and 40,000 bottles. The portfolio is characterized by powerful, original, and distinctive Champagnes, with a sober, structured, and elegant style that always leaves a lasting impression. Since 2020, the company has been Demeter certified, further demonstrating its commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly farming practices.

A vintage from a single vineyard with a north-south orientation in Cramant, a village the family holds dear. Bright straw yellow, it offers aromas of brioche, butter, hawthorn, candied grapes, and toasted hazelnut. A wine with a clean attack and creamy effervescence, it is fruity and succulent on the palate, supported by a pure acidity and a savory finish. No dosage, 2,028 bottles produced.
