Campania

Campania is made up of an extremely varied territory: mountainous reliefs, hilly areas, volcanic areas and flat stretches, where we find land for the cultivation of completely different vines. This diversity allows for obtaining particularly interesting wines with different organoleptic characteristics even for wines produced with the same vine. Viticulture in Campania was already known in antiquity, the greatest wines of ancient times come from this region, and Orazio, a great Latin author, celebrates the goodness of wines such as Falerno, Ceco and many others. Campania has four DOCGs that are: Taurasi, obtained from the Aglianico grape variety, is produced in the Avellino area. Great red wine of structure, it seems that the name comes from "Ellenico". Other historical areas for the Araanic cultivation are the Sannio, Cilento and Taburno. The Fiano of Avellino, produced with the homonymous grape variety, is one of the largest white wines of the south, with characteristic hazelnut scents. The Greek of Tufo, white wine of the province of Avellino, is obtained from the Greek grape. The Aglianico del Taburno, the only DCOG located outside the province of Avellino, is produced in Beneventano. Numerous DOCs including. Asprinio di Aversa, obtained from the homonymous vine which is still cultivated with the old system of marinated vines, called "tree-lined". From still or sparkling wines with high acidity. Perfectly accompanies pizza daisies. The Falanghina, a white grape variety that is raised throughout the region, with the most convincing results in the Sannio area, in the three sub-regions: Sant'Agata dei Goti, Solopaca and Guard Sanframondi. The Falanghina originates from a fresh and savory wine. Other Doc in which Falanghina joins are: the Falerno of the White Massicus, the White Fields and the Sorrentine Peninsula. Lacryma Crhisti of Vesuvius is obtained from vines cultivated on steep slopes of Vesuvius. There is a red version, from Piedirosso grapes that give soft, white wines produced with the Fox Fox grape. We remind ourselves of the splendid wines of the Amalfi Coast, in the three sub-regions: Furore, Ravello and Tramonti. Red and rosé wines based on Piedirosso and Aglianico, and whites obtained with Biancolella, Fenile and Ginestra.
