Molise

Molise is a wine-growing region of Southern Italy bordering Abruzzo, Campania and Puglia. Wine production was known since antiquity; Poets like Orazio celebrated the virtues of unsurpassed wines such as Falerno and Ceco. Its territory is very different; Mountainous reliefs on the border with Campania and hilly and flat areas as you get to the sea. Extremely different terrains that allow the cultivation of different vines with excellent results. We find white grape vines such as Chardonnay, White Bombino, Falanghina, White Greek, Malvasia, Trebbiano, and red berries; Aglianico, Bovale, Montepulciano, Sangiovese and the only Molisano native, Tintillia, who in recent years, accompanies the work of more and more vintners, has risen to the forefront of Italy as one of the most promising vines in Southern Italy. Molise does not have DOCG but 4 DOCs.
