Spumante Metodo Classico  Extra Brut Rosé "Belen" - Ferdinando Principiano

The Belen is made from Barbera grapes that come from the old vineyards with which Barbera d'Alba DOC is obtained. The grapes are harvested in advance of the normal harvest to obtain Barbera d'Alba, in order to have grapes with the right acidity. Spontaneous fermentation in steel tanks to produce the base wine, and the must of the same grapes is added for the fermentation process. Rest a year on the lees before being put on the market. Belen is pink crystalline pearl with a fine and delicate froth. Intense and lasting aromas on the nose reminiscent of the fresh and lively fruit of Barbera, with flavors of red and floral fruit. In the mouth it is crunchy and fresh, greedy, with a long and tense finish. A sparkling wine of excellent freshness and liveliness.

Service

It is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 8/10 ° in flute ballon. Wine to be drunk immediately but left a few years in the cellar can give great emotions.

Pairing

Excellent wine that goes well with fish appetizers, first courses, fish dishes, excellent with a truffle omelette.

The cellar: Ferdinando Principiano

The Ferdinando Principiano winery is located in Monteforte d'Alba in the heart of the Langhe. Started by Ferdinando's grandfather and then managed by his father who cultivated the vineyards to sell the grapes. In 1993 Ferdinando took over the reins of the company. Freshly graduated in oenology, Ferdinando began to vinify his own grapes and sell the wines he produced. But it is in 2003 that the real turning point happens, Ferdinando understands that he has a strong and indissoluble bond with his land, his vines and his wines and he focuses on the tradition and the genuineness of the wines he produces. Bans any form of chemical substance from the vineyard and the winery, press the grapes with their feet, use only indigenous yeasts for vinification to obtain a wine that is an authentic expression of the territory. Many versions of Barolo in the different Cru: Ravera, Boscaretto and Pian Romualda and the splendid interpretations of the other grape varieties of the Langhe: Dolcetto, Freisa and Barbera for the reds and Timorasso and for the Bianchi, do not miss a very original interpretation of Barbera Spumante . The wines of Ferdinando Principiano are just like him, true, sicneri, frank and respectful of the terroir.
