Cellar: Nino Barraco
Nino Barraco is located in the north-western part of Sicily, in Marsala. Nino is a true craftsman of wine, his idea starts from the assumption that his wines have to talk about the territory, the climate, the hand of the man who produces it, be recognizable for their personality and to achieve these goals must avoid standardization , technical interventions and rely only on the variability of nature. Nino personally takes care of every stage of processing in the vineyard and in the cellar, continuous research and experimentation have led him to abandon the classic tree-based farm in Marsala to adopt the Guyot system, abolition of chemistry in the vineyards but only weighted use of copper and sulfur, free fermentations with spontaneous yeasts, 4 days long maceration for white wines and 12 for red wines, total absence of sulfur dioxide during all cellar operations, refining of wines in steel tanks and no filtration, clarification or stabilization before bottling. All Nino wines are produced with native Sicilian vines in purity; Grillo, Catarratto, Zibibbo, Nero d'Avola and Perricone. Incredible, sincere wines, pure expression of the vine, the territory and the vintage.
