Terre di Matè
Terre di Matè is a young company that was founded in 2013 by Stefania Carrea, who having inherited the vineyard, decided to continue the activity of her father, to produce a wine able to excite, and generate pleasure and well-being to those who drink it . The name of the company was given in honor of Stefania's father who was called Matteo, who was called by all Matè in dialect. Terre di Matè is located in the municipality of Tassarolo, in the province of Alessandria in the lower Piedmont on the border with Liguria. Stefania cultivates 4.5 hectares planted in Cortese di Gavi which are treated in a maniacal way. In the vineyard every job is done manually, and only products allowed from organic farming are used. In the winery Stefania's goal is to intervene as little as possible in order to favor the natural fermentation process and give the grape the opportunity to express itself and the territory from which it comes. Two wines produced; the Regaldina, Gavi DOCG, and the Matè a white wine without added sulphites. Handcrafted wines that in the glass therefore bring the inspiring principles at the base of the quality research undertaken by Terre di Matè.
