The Muxagat company is located in Vila Nova de Foz Coa, in the Douro Superior area. Founded in 2005 by Mateus de Almeida, who after studying in oenology at the prestigious Bordeaux enology institute, decided to return to Portugal and open his company. It recovers ancient local varieties, which grow on terrains of sparkling origin, such as Rabigato, Arinto, Gouveio, Syria, despite the great heat in this area they have been well adapted. In vine, it uses only copper and zinc, and some biodynamic preparations such as cornilip and cornoletam, and herbal teas prepared from painter maceration such as cactus and ferns. In the cellar only spontaneous fermentations, indigenous yeasts and only a small amount of sulfur before bottling. The Muxagat wines are fi ls, which bring in the terroir of these valleys, give rise to emotions and every sip invites to return to the glass.
