Fattoria di Bacchereto Terre a Mano

The Farm of Bacchereto is located on a hill near Carmignano, in the province of Prato. Carmignano has always been a wine-growing area, in fact, in 1716 Grand Duke Cosimo III of the Medici chose it as one of the four wine-growing zones of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany. Since 1920, it has been owned by the Bencini Tesi family, which over the years has been able to enlarge it, reaching about 180 hectares, including meadows, forests, olive groves, fruit trees, chestnuts and vineyards. In the sixties the estate began to produce olive oil and wine at an industrial level, but it was only with the arrival of Rossella Bencini who at the beginning of the two thousand years that the company changed completely identity. Rossella after turning the world to bark as an oenological adviser decides to take on the reins of the estate helped by Marco Vannucci and Adriano Zago, a winemaker and winery of great experience. Rossella has immediately focused on a natural approach, trying to respect nature with careful care of the vineyard without the use of herbicides and chemical fertilizers, and against vine diseases, only sulfur and copper are used. In the cellar, vinification practices are carried out without the addition of selected yeasts, with wine aging in small oak barrels and bottling without filtration or clarification.
