The cellar of Clara Marcelli is located on the gentle hills of Piceno, an area in the Marche border to Abruzzo. Here the terrains enjoy a wonderful microclimate given by the vicinity of the Adriatic Sea and the Appennine Mountains. The vineyards, which lie on an area of 14 hectares, are reared biologically and Clara has chosen to cultivate native vines in the area such as Passerina, Pecorino, Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Bordò. The latter is actually the Grenace, which in the Piceno area is called Bordò, a name given by the Sardinian shepherds during the period of Transumancia meaning "the bastard screw" or the Sardinian dialect "SaVite Burde". The vintage is done manually and in the cellar Chiara Marcelli is helped by Marco Casolanetti, owner of Oasi degli Angeli. Together, they carry on not only the project of producing quality wines but also to make known and save from the extinction the vine Bordò. The wines of Clara Marcelli express the potential of the territory in total respect for the environment.
