Casè is a small company located on the hills of Val Trebbia, an area known for its great natural beauty. In 1992, two young friends, Alberto and Diego, driven by their strong passion for wine and the conviction of the return to basic things like land, energy and food, decided to leave their jobs and devote themselves full time to the production of wine. In 1998, after a careful study of the characteristics of the soil and the climate, Alberto and Diego planted the first Pinot Nero vineyards and other white grape vines. The current ones are located at 600 m.s.l. on land of limestone and clay, and are processed without herbicides and chemical fertilizers, while the harvest is performed manually selecting the best bunches directly on the plant. In the winery, Alberto and Diego try to intervene as little as possible using only indigenous yeasts and not carrying out any type of chemical or physical intervention. During fermentation, the wines remain in contact with the skins for a time that can vary from 20 to 40 days, and the aging takes place in wooden barrels on its lees until bottling. Finally, the wine is not filtered before bottling, and for this you can see a little 'sediment in the bottles. Today the goal of Casè is to produce wines that differ from the "international taste", wines with a different taste every year, because influenced by the peculiar characteristics of the territory and the vintage.
