The agricultural Cantine Barbera company is located in Memphis, in the province of Agrigento, and was purchased by Marilena's grandfather, the late '20s he planted the first vineyards. Marilena's father continued the cultivation of vineyards, selling their grapes to wineries in the area of Marsala, and later founding with other producers in the social cooperative of Memphis, which gave all the product until the late '90s. Only in the mid-90s begin the vinification of their grapes and in 2001 the first bottle bottle with their label. Today produce a total of 13 wines, each coming from a small vineyard, some wines are produced in a very small number of bottles. Their vineyards are located very close to the sea, less than a kilometer as the crow flies, on the bank next to the river Belice Nature Reserve. For fermentation exclusively using indigenous yeast and all the wines are not released, so there is respect for the natural organoleptic characteristics of the wines.
