The link between Margheritae Francesca Padovanie and the Fonterenza estate has always been so strong that these two sisters still very young decide to leave Milan behind permanently to move to Montalcino, a place that has been loved since their childhood. From places of games and growth, Sant'Angelo in Colle and Poggio San Polino soon become places to deal with a growth not only human but professional, first with olive trees, then with vines. Margherita and Francesca plant the vines between 1999 and 2005. Above all Sangiovese, obviously, on the lands of Galestro of the south-eastern sector of Montalcino. The 4.20 total hectares of the farm are grown organically (Icea certification) and biodynamic. For treatments, therefore, only copper and sulfur are used in very low dosages, as well as natural and biodynamic preparations (infusions, macerated, 500, 501 ...). The land is worked and the green manure is adopted. Vinification is the natural and consistent continuation of these respectful and non-interventionist choices. In the winery no oenological additives besides sulfur dioxide, however always in quantities much lower than the limits set by the regulation on the organic. The refinements take place, depending on the type of wine, in stainless steel or in oak barrels of various sizes.
