WINES FROM LOIRE

Along the Loire River, countless small wineries of value such as Anjou, Savennière, Coteaux du Layon, Saumur, Sancerre, Touraine, Chinon, Bourgueil, Vouvray, Poully-Fumé and many others unravel. In these Appelations are produced red wines with Cabernet Franc and Pinot Nero grapes that give wines of light color and body and with clear grassy and mineral hints, and white wines produced with Chenin Blanc grapes, which produce wines among the longest in the world like the Vouvray and the Savennière, and Sauvignon Blanc with which we obtain the Sancerre and the pouilly-Fumè, two legendary wines. Spumante activity in the Appelation of Saumur is very flourishing, where classic methods are produced with Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. At the eastern end, around Muscatet, an excellent white wine with oysters, is grown around the city of Nantes, while in the Appelation Bonnezeaux from Chenin Blacn grapes one of the biggest sweet wines of France is produced.
